Zmanim For Shabbos
These are the following times and rules you need to know to figure out the Zmanim for most American shuls in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood and the like.
Candle lighting in Jerusalem (and RBS) is forty minutes before shkia (sunset). Your average Mincha on Erev Shabbos will be either twenty or fifteen minutes before shkia. Maariv on Friday night, depending on the place, can be between twenty minutes after shkia to forty-five minutes after shkia.
Shacharis Shabbos morning will range between 7:45am and 8:30am among the basic shuls throughout the year. Most of the shuls have a thirty- to forty-minute pesukeh dzimrah giving Shacharis a start time of about an hour before sof zman krias shema.
Unless it’s an early Mincha, Mincha on Shabbos afternoon will either be about an hour before shkia or at candle lighting.
Maariv Motzei Shabbos will either be at the time tzeis Shabbos is on the calendar, ten minutes after the previous mentioned time, or at Rabbeinu Tam.
